Spring Intramural

Our Council Rock Basketball Spring Intramural season is open to all Council Rock School District residents in grades 3 to 9 for girls and grades 3 to 12 for boys. Building on the skills learned during the winter intramural and travel seasons, the spring program will typically have two games each week per team, with no practices. The spring program will begin in early April and end in early June.

Ages

Our spring program will combine players in grade levels as follows:

Girls: 3/4/5 and 6/7/8/9

Boys: 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12


When

We expect that the spring season will begin the week of April 6. We expect that the regular season will be concluded by May 22 (the Friday before Memorial Day), with playoffs beginning the Tuesday after Memorial Day and being completed by June 5.


Where

All of our intramural practices and games are played in Council Rock School District schools. Typically, we play in the following elementary schools (and we will also have some games at Holland Middle):

Churchville | Hillcrest | Rolling Hills | Holland | Welch


Cost

The registration fees for the spring intramural program will be $110. Residents of Northampton Township will be given a $10 discount from our standard registration fee that will be refunded to their credit card after registration is concluded.


Practices

There are no practices for the Spring season, only games.


Games

All games will be played on weeknights, usually with the first game times starting at approximately 6:10 and the last games of the night starting at approximately 8:20. The nights a team will play will likely vary from week to week depending on gym availability, though we will do our best to be as consistent as possible. Games will be played in elementary and middle schools throughout Council Rock School District.

Jerseys

All players will be provided a reversible jersey for games, and that is included in the cost of registration. Players must provide their own shirts and basketballs.

How much does the program cost?

Can I submit friend requests?

No. To keep the league competitively balanced as possible, almost all of the age groups draft teams; therefore, we cannot accommodate friend requests. Additionally, in light of the size of the program, the process is too difficult and time consuming to manage.

Do you still need volunteers?

Yes! We definitely need volunteers to coach at all levels. There is a registration question that you can answer if you are interested in volunteering to help us run this program. We cannot do it without the support of our great volunteers!

Will the times of my games and gyms my child plays in be consistent?

No. We will do our best to maintain all of the consistency that we can, but because of the way the School District allocates gym time to us, the gyms and times available to us vary each week. So your games can be scheduled on any day of the week in a given week.

Why do Northampton residents get a discount?

Northampton Township gives us the use of their facilities (Welch Elementary and all of the courts we use for the summer league). In exchange, the Township requests that Township residents pay a reduced rate, and we are happy to honor that request because we could not run our programs without use of Township facilities.

If I sign up and am on the waiting list, am I guaranteed to get a spot?

No. Given the limited gym availability we have, we are not able to offer unlimited spots at each grade grouping. We try as hard as we can to give as many children the opportunity to play as possible, but we are constrained by the number of games we can schedule based on gym availability.
