Coach Code of Conduct
By volunteering to serve as a coach - and role model - in our program, you agree to abide by the following code of conduct:
- I will place the physical and emotional well-being of the players ahead of any personal desire to win, remembering that I am a youth sports coach for a developmental league.
- I will not engage in any violence or verbal threats or use any profanity.
- I will treat each player individually, remembering the large range of emotional and physical development for the same age group.
- I will use coaching techniques appropriate for all the skills that I teach.
- I will under no circumstances engage in an argument with a referee or official. Any discussions or conversations with officials or referees will be in a respectful tone.
- I will treat opposing coaches, athletes, and officials with respect.
- I will do my best to organize practices that are fun and challenging for all my players
- I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all my players
- I will strive to be knowledgeable in the rules of basketball and will teach those rules to my players
I understand that behavior not in line with the above code of conduct will result in penalties, up to and including suspension from Council Rock Basketball as a player, coach or spectator and a lifetime ban from all Council Rock Basketball Association-sponsored events.
If any member of the community witnesses behaviors not-in-line with the above code of conduct, please bring it to the league’s attention by emailing CRBAHoops@gmail.com.
