Intramural League
Our intramural league for the winter season is our main basketball league, and it is open to players of all skill levels. Games are structures so that all players get to play equal time. In order to participate in our league, you must be a resident of the Council Rock School District.
Ages
We offer our intramural program to players in 2nd through 9th grade for girls, and second through twelfth grade for boys.
The boys' divisions are separated by grade, except for 11th and 12th grades, which are combined into one division.
The girls' divisions are all combined grades: 2nd and 3rd; 4th and 5th; and 6th/7th/8th/9th.
When
Our intramural program will begin with assessments, which will being in late October. The assessment process allows our coaches to see the players and will assist us in putting together teams that are competitively balanced.
Practices and games will typically start around the third week of November and the season will run through late February / early March.
Where
All of our intramural practices and games are played in Council Rock School District schools. Typically, we play in the following elementary schools:
Churchville | Hillcrest | Rolling Hills | Holland | Welch
Practices
Each intramural team will have one practice per week. The day of the week for each team's practice is assigned at the beginning of the season.
Games
Each team will have one game per week, except for the oldest boys group, which play two games per week (with no practice).
Jerseys
Each player will be given a jersey at the beginning of the season, and the cost of the jersey is included in the registration fee. Players can wear any type of shorts they would like.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does the program cost?
The cost is:
$150 for 2nd grade boys and 2nd/3rd grade girls
$200 for boys 9/10/11/12
$180 All other age groups
Can I submit friend requests?
No. To keep the league competitively balanced as possible, almost all of the age groups draft teams; therefore, we cannot accommodate friend requests. Additionally, in light of the size of the program, the process is too difficult and time consuming to manage.
For the youngest age groups where we do not conduct drafts, we do try to make the teams by school to the extent possible so that your child will likely have some friends on the team.
Can I submit a practice exclusion night?
You can submit a request for a practice exclusion night, and we will do our best to honor it, but cannot guarantee that we can meet all exclusion requests. Each year it is more difficult to secure gym space, so we have less flexibility than we have had in past years when it comes to the nights we are able to practice in the gyms. We will do our best to honor a requested practice exclusion night, but we cannot guarantee it.
Do you still need volunteers?
Yes! We definitely need volunteers to help coordinate certain age groups (in particular 2nd boys and 4th/5th girls), as well as coaches at all levels. There is a registration question that you can answer if you are interested in volunteering to help us run this program. We cannot do it without the support of our great volunteers!
